INTO THE BLUE 19TH JUNE - 10TH JULY
1975 Graduate of Glasgow School of Art Originally focussing on more figurative work Peter has begun to develop his landscapes. Scenes from Glasgow and the surrounding landscape as well as Tuscan hillsides and Swiss lakeside settings feature alongside his most recent paintings of Southern California. The seascape, bright sunlight and sandy beaches that created a simplicity of shape and colour inspired these most recent work. Notable achievements include; 1978 Scottish Arts Council Award, Solo exhibition, Greenock Arts Centre; 1979 Scottish Arts Council Award, Amsterdam Studio Residency; 1986 Compass Gallery solo exhibition; 1987 Glasgow Group Exhibition; 1988 Fine Art Society Festival Exhibition Glasgow; 1996 Paisley Art Institute Annual Exhibition , Institute Award; 1997 Finalist Morrison Portrait Award Exhibition , Royal Scottish Academy Edinburgh; 1998 SAAC Exhibition, RSA, Ann Redpath Award......
